Compensation Range: $150,000-$300,000 base salary (DOE)

Position Overview

The AI Engineer will play a key role in building backend systems and AI reliability infrastructure to detect and fix incorrect responses from AI Agents. This is a mission-critical, high-priority hire for the team.

Key Responsibilities

Build and productionize backend features that support real-time AI output evaluation, visualization, and issue remediation. Optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and low latency. Prototype and benchmark novel features. Collaborate with enterprise clients to address real-world AI challenges.

Requirements

3+ years of software engineering experience with production systems. 3+ years of experience working in AI/ML environments. Strong coding expertise in Python. Experience building and maintaining production-level systems used by real users. Solid understanding of API design, backend infrastructure, and AI system evaluation.

Tech Stack

Languages/Frameworks: Python, pandas, FastAPI, asyncio AI Tools: OpenAI, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, Hugging Face Databases: Postgres/pgvector Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP DevOps: Docker, Git, CI/CD

What Makes a Candidate Stand Out

Hands-on experience building systems from scratch ("zero-to-one" builder). Strong background in LLM orchestration, evaluations, error analysis, and data pipelines. Demonstrated ability to document experiments and solve ambiguous problems. Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Passion for clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
