Artificial Intelligence and Privacy Associate General Counsel
The Opportunity :

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Government Markets and Intellectual Property teams to anticipate business needs and develop practical governance structures with agility and action. You’ll establish trusted partnerships with leaders across the company’s Chief Technology Office and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team. You will serve as a thought leader to protect and advance the company’s AI strategy while monitoring and helping business leadership respond to complex legal, regulatory, and compliance risks. Guided by Booz Allen’s purpose and values, we’ll anticipate and proactively prepare for future issues. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You'll Work On:
Advise on legal aspects of the AI Risk Management Program.
Review AI initiatives to assess risk, propose precautions, and communicate with the business to find success paths.
Contribute to AI policies, risk tolerance, strategy, and ethics aligned with our values.
Engage with procurement, risk, technology, cybersecurity, and communications teams to negotiate terms and advise on legal strategies for Business Associate, Data Processing, and AI agreements.
Monitor and respond to regulatory changes and federal directives impacting AI use.
Apply knowledge of federal agency rules, executive orders, legislation, and contract clauses related to AI.
Advise on privacy legal issues from GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other data regulations.
You Have:
8+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house, with expertise in AI, risk management, machine learning, or data rights.
Experience with privacy laws, frameworks, and controls such as GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and HIPAA.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders to develop solutions and tailor legal input to achieve objectives.
Experience negotiating AI technology use terms and conditions.
Knowledge of AI, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, emerging AI risk frameworks, ethical principles, and U.S., state, and international regulations.
Ability to communicate legal obligations to technical teams effectively.
J.D. degree and active bar admission in any U.S. state.
Nice If You Have:
Experience with Federal government contracts.
Experience advising on AI governance processes and procedures.
Experience working with engineers, network architects, and technical staff.
Knowledge of AI risk management practices like the NIST AI Risk Framework.
CIPP or AIGP Certification.
Compensation
We offer comprehensive benefits including health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, plus paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, and work-life programs. Our salary range is $162,800 to $303,000 annually, depending on various factors. This posting closes within 90 days from the posting date.
