We seek a dynamic Associate Director of Laboratory Engineering and Technology Site Lead West Coast to drive digital transformation initiatives. This role involves leading the engagement of the DTE team at the West Coast sites (San Diego and Seattle), focusing on technology infrastructure, laboratory computing hardware, and integrating instrumentation into Vertex’s environment. The role ensures laboratory operations meet regulatory standards while leveraging digital tools to enhance performance and innovation. Key Duties And Responsibilities Vision and Strategy Partner with site leadership to align local technology delivery with site strategy. Represent DTE at San Diego and Seattle sites. Collaborate with scientists and lab technicians to ensure IT systems meet their needs. Operational Execution Evaluate and approve hardware/software for scientific needs. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and data security. Manage laboratory hardware/software, including instruments and network devices. Collaborate with global DTE IT teams for robust site environments. Deliver troubleshooting and promote automation to improve efficiency. Monitor emerging lab technologies like AI, IoT, and cloud tools. Manage vendor relationships and IT support for security and scalability. Ensure IT services meet Vertex standards and compliance. Leadership Implement strategic project plans aligned with organizational goals. Manage teams at San Diego and Seattle. Oversee project execution, ensuring timely and quality delivery. Lead a global team to deliver a consistent laboratory experience. Mentor team members and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Use KPIs to monitor and improve project performance. Knowledge And Skills Experience in developing technology strategies within scientific organizations. Strong leadership, relationship management, and communication skills. Problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities. Deep understanding of compliance, especially in pharma and life sciences. Education And Experience Bachelor’s in IT, engineering, or related fields; Master’s preferred. Experience with endpoint devices, ITIL, and tools like ServiceNow. Background in laboratory technology, regulatory standards, and digital tools. Experience with high-throughput labs, diagnostics, and enabling advanced tech like AI. Willing to travel up to 10%. Pay Range $158,800 - $238,100 Disclosure Statement Salary depends on skills and experience. Role includes bonus, equity, and benefits, with flexible work options. Flex Designation Hybrid or On-Site.
