About the Team

The Global Legal team provides legal advice and guidance to OKX and its affiliated entities across coverage areas and geographic locations, supporting business growth by working with all teams to help achieve goals. OKX is based in San Jose, California, with customers worldwide and offices in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Our team has attorneys around the world and handles legal matters in hundreds of countries.

About the Opportunity

As an Associate General Counsel in the Marketing Practice Group, you will report to the Head of the practice group and work closely with the Global Legal team and business leaders. You will be based in either San Francisco or San Jose, in the office three days a week, with the option to work remotely two days a week.

The right candidate will have a basic understanding of and enthusiasm for the cryptocurrency/digital asset space, relevant litigation and regulatory experience at a top law firm or in-house at a fast-paced, brand-name business, and strong academic credentials with excellent writing and analytical skills. Experience in financial services, cryptocurrency/digital assets, financial services regulation and securities laws is ideal.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the business in a wide range of legal coverage areas, including marketing and advertising, product promotion and development, global regulatory matters, token listings, contract negotiation.
• Working with a global team of attorneys supporting the Company's global growth, local markets and marketing and advertising departments.
• Managing outside counsel and interpreting legal advice to align with the firm's business development plans and risk appetite.
• When necessary, assisting the team's litigation and regulatory practice group on global regulatory matters and inquiries.
• Collaborating with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals.
• Managing legal requests from all areas of the business and advising on legal concepts and risk with an eye toward the strategic goals of business leaders.

What We Look For In You

• Active membership with a state bar (CA preferred) or eligible to practice in California as in-house counsel.
• Resident of the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Litigation and regulatory experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in financial services or crypto.
• Experience advising on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology legal issues (or strong interest and knowledge) with understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to advise and build trust with business teams and navigate a rapidly-changing legal landscape.
• Comfortable working in a high-functioning, collaborative legal team.

The salary range for this position is $143,111 - $214,666. The salary offered depends on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position offered.
