The corporate office of SmithGroup is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join our team.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing corporate policies, procedures, and programs.
Review corporate transactions, such as contracts and leases, including negotiations.
Consult with the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel on project and employment claims against or on behalf of the company.
Participate in business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
Support legal aspects of the company's financing, including evaluating business structures and legal entities.
Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
Assist in evaluating the company's insurance programs.
Support patent pursuits undertaken by the company.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in construction and transactional law. In-house counsel experience is preferred, but relevant outside counsel experience will also be considered.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required. An undergraduate degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
Active bar membership is required.
Excellent legal, analytical, and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
Working knowledge of Adobe software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $129,000 annually, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
