Associate Vice President, Direct Mail (Political)

Overview We are currently looking for an Associate Vice President to join our Direct Mail Team. In this role, you’ll provide strategic leadership to Democratic campaigns and organizations fighting for a better future. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive direct marketing fundraising strategies that propel our partners’ missions. You’ll be an agile leader, enjoying a dynamic experience, working with everyone from household names to upstart organizations with new angles on old problems. You’ll oversee a book of relationships, ensuring our service is worthy of the trust they place in us.

You will be responsible for Identifying donor segments for direct mail campaigns, finding new opportunities to segment and engage donors for maximum impact
Bringing a creative, data-driven approach to existing and new fundraising direct mail strategies, with a focus on revenue results
Leading the strategic planning and execution of offline fundraising initiatives for political partners; including primarily direct mail but may also include telemarketing
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling and targeted direct mail fundraising campaigns
Developing and managing fundraising budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources
Analyzing fundraising performance metrics and implementing strategies for continuous improvement
Staying updated with industry trends and best practices, incorporating innovative approaches into fundraising efforts
Fostering relationships with key stakeholders (internal / external)
Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the fundraising team, fostering professional growth and development
Working closely with fast-paced client partners, ready to shift priorities in a high-demanding, high-volume environment with tight deadlines
Must-have qualifications Desire to be part of a company committed to delivering groundbreaking results for mission-driven organizations and campaigns
10+ years of in-house political or agency experience in direct response fundraising
Tenured experience with client management and resilience to seamlessly work with clients whose needs and priorities shift quickly
Proficiency in communication and writing, demonstrating excellence in both areas
Substantial background in devising long-term strategies, seamlessly transitioning from high-level strategic planning to hands-on execution, and effectively steering account management
Proven self-starter with the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to dynamic requirements and deadlines
Adaptable to excelling in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
Dedicated to achieving results while maintaining a collaborative team-oriented approach
Eager inclination to learn and continuously develop professionally
Strong Excel experience
Previous people management experience
Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and consistently providing it to your client each day
The salary floor for this role is $110,000+ per year, depending on experience.
The official title upon hire will be Associate Vice President.
