CalSTRS – Investment Officer III, Investment Operations: HQ The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as an Investment Officer III on the Investment Operations team.
Investment Operations provides operational services and oversight across the Investments Branch’s entire asset universe. This includes portfolio setup and onboarding, pre-settlement and post-trade portfolio controls, trade and cash flow management, and total fund reporting. Additionally, the team serves as a control mechanism to safeguard the total plan and mitigate operational and custodial risk.
Under the general direction of the Associate Portfolio Manager, the Investment Officer III provides high-level investment and financial expertise to staff and management. The incumbent works independently to serve as the lead of contact on investment projects and/or initiatives and provides investment and financial expertise on complex operational activities related to managing the CalSTRS’ Investment Portfolio utilizing a wide range of analytical and technical skills, effective oral and written communication skills, project management, and knowledge of investment securities. The incumbent is responsible for performing the complex duties requiring the highest degree of independence, confidentiality, creativity, and discretionary judgment.

The Investments Branch manages a portfolio that is broadly diversified into seven asset categories with assets totaling approximately $369.6 billion as of July 31, 2025.
