Overview Chief Financial Officer (CFO) — Brooklyn, NY — $200,000–$250,000 per year. Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Department: Executive / Finance. Job Type: Full-Time. About Us Our client is a mature & stable Real Estate Equity and Management Group who are seeking an experienced and capable Chief Financial Officer. They are scaling quickly and are seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy, drive sustainable growth, and partner with the executive team to make bold, data-driven decisions based on historic reports and scaling strategy. Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s financial activities. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO oversees all aspects of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, capital structure, investor relations, and risk management. The CFO ensures the company\'s financial practices are in compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership in financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, and financial reporting. Direct and oversee the finance, accounting, budgeting, tax, and audit functions of the organization. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management and control. Analyze financial statements and performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profitability improvement. Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes. Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and advising management on necessary actions. Present financial reports and strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team. Monitor cash flow, manage capital, and evaluate financing options. Supervise and develop finance department staff, fostering a high-performance, team-oriented environment. Lead initiatives related to financial technology systems and automation to increase efficiency. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required) MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications (preferred) 10+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior management role Experience in [industry name] or [public/private sector, as applicable] Skills & Competencies Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership and team management capabilities Deep knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences Work Environment Primarily office-based; may include hybrid or remote work as approved by leadership.
