Chief People & Financial Officer (CHRO/CFO dual role) – WA | REMOTE Reports to: President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Position Summary Talis Consulting Group has been retained by a well-established, locally based leader in data analytics to recruit their next Chief People & Financial Officer. This organization empowers first responders and insurers with data-driven insights that ultimately save lives and protect property. Under its current leadership, the company has grown 2.5x over the last decade—and is now seeking a strategic executive to lead both People and Finance functions. The Opportunity This unique dual-role executive position offers the opportunity to lead both the financial strategy and the people operations of a fast-growing, mission-driven company that has been serving customers for over 100 years. As VP of Human Resources: You’ll shape company culture, workforce development, compensation strategy, and talent management. As Chief Financial Officer: You’ll oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, cash flow, and financial planning. This hands-on role requires a leader with strong business acumen, exceptional integrity, and a deep understanding of how financial health and employee engagement intersect to drive organizational success. Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Leadership Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with organizational goals Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention initiatives Oversee compensation and benefits strategy, ensuring equity and competitiveness Manage performance management, learning & development, and succession planning Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices Foster a values-driven culture that promotes engagement and accountability Financial Leadership (CFO Function) Lead financial strategy, planning, analysis, and reporting across the organization Direct all financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow, tax reporting, investments, and audits Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies Present financial reports and analysis to executive leadership and the Board of Directors Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external financial partners Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board on all finance and people matters Partner with other C-suite executives to achieve business objectives Mentor and lead Finance and HR teams, developing high-performance cultures in both departments Qualifications: Experience 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience spanning both HR and Finance Demonstrated success in strategic and operational leadership roles across both functions Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, or HR) preferred CPA designation a plus (not required) SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred Key Competencies Loves people and numbers Knows the rules, not ruled by them Strategic thinker with strong operational execution High emotional intelligence and people leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Unquestionable ethical standards and professional integrity Solid knowledge of employment law and financial regulations Location This position is 100% remote, based out of the Seattle, WA area. The company meets in person for team events once or twice per quarter in the Seattle area. Preference will be given to Washington-based candidates, but we will also consider candidates from: OR, AK, NV, AZ, CO, ID, MT, NM, UT, and WY. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $228,975 – $366,361 Hiring Range: $228,975 – $320,000 5 weeks PTO, full benefits, 9 holidays, 2 floating holidays 401(k) match up to 6%
