We're looking for an exceptional Chief Revenue Officer to spearhead revenue strategy for an innovative AI data labelling and annotation company. As CRO, you'll drive substantial portions of this business division, securing major contracts with artificial intelligence research facilities and leading technology corporations while constructing the revenue infrastructure needed for scalable growth. Direct partnership with the executive leadership team ensures your strategic impact on the company's trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development: Secure new partnerships with AI research institutions and premier technology companies through strategic networking and targeted outreach
- Revenue Operations: Direct comprehensive sales processes from initial prospect identification through final contract execution
- Financial Strategy: Create comprehensive business strategies, pricing frameworks, profitability targets, and revenue projections
- Partnership Building: Establish lasting connections with research teams, technical leadership, purchasing departments, and legal counsel
- Growth Management: Expand existing client relationships and uncover additional revenue streams
- Organizational Development: Recruit and guide revenue-focused teams while promoting performance-driven culture
- Leadership Communication: Provide consistent updates to executive team regarding revenue metrics and business development progress
Essential:
- Based in San Francisco, CA with flexibility for regional, national, and global business travel
- University degree from prestigious academic institution (all fields considered)
- Demonstrated success directing sales operations and commercial strategy with profit/loss accountability
- Advanced expertise in enterprise contract negotiations, revenue optimization, and financial margin oversight
- Extensive professional connections within AI research organizations and major technology firms
- Comprehensive leadership experience including team oversight, financial planning, and departmental coordination
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (SOC 2 compliance) and regulatory requirements
- History of developing cross-functional organizations and managing complex stakeholder relationships
- Proficiency with modern business tools (Google Suite, spreadsheet applications, customer relationship platforms)
- Dynamic interpersonal skills with natural networking and relationship-building strengths
Preferred:
- Background in artificial intelligence laboratory environments (reinforcement learning, safety testing, evaluation frameworks, multimedia applications)
- Successful experience growing service-based revenue from startup phase to eight-figure annual performance
- Deep knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning frameworks, and language model systems
- Expertise in large-scale enterprise sales processes and customer portfolio expansion
- Annual Base: $150,000 - $250,000 (with growth-based adjustments)
- Performance Incentives: $300,000 - $1,000,000+ yearly bonuses in cash and equity for exceptional results
