This position is a remote/hybrid role based out of the locations listed in the posting.

About You

Working remotely or at one of our offices located in our Western U.S. region, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel for our various commercial real estate services business lines, with a focus on brokerage services. You will be responsible for contract negotiation, review and drafting, risk management, and general legal advice. You will be responsible for drafting documentation relating to complex recruitment and retention arrangements for revenue-producing real estate services professionals. You may assist in review of internal shared services documentation from time to time, including leases and vendor agreements and you will develop positive and collaborative relationships with personnel across the organization.

In this role, you will…

  • Become a trusted advisor and successfully provide legal counsel to a range of business lines, using your excellent judgement to actively solve legal matters and assist them in reaching their goals.
  • Assist in reviewing internal documentation from time to time, including vendor agreements and other procurement documents.
  • Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects as required.
  • Develop positive and collaborative relationships with Colliers personnel to ensure a common understanding of objectives and service level agreements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and a member of at least one State Bar in good standing
  • 3 to 8 years of experience (in-house experience particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry preferred)
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial, and preferably employment, contracts in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinker with focus on practical client advice on legal risks
  • Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of employment law, general commercial law, and real estate agreements & transactions preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Approximate Salary Range for this Role $127,000/year - $175,000/year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Benefits include employer-subsidized medical benefits including Rx, dental, vision, employer-paid basic life/AD&D insurance, short-term/long-term disability, 401k with employer match, 10 days sick leave, and minimum 15 days vacation annually. Some senior-level roles are eligible for unlimited time off. Eligible for 10 paid holidays plus two personal flex days. Parental leave is available (12 weeks for birth parents; 4 weeks for non-birth parents) after 90 days of employment. Some benefits may vary by state law.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.
