Overview GovCIO is currently hiring a Data Architect to support our client’s contract needs. This position will be hybrid and located in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities
Directs the design of databases to store, secure, select, and retrieve information in a logical, orderly manner.
Ensures that designed systems provide sufficient controlled avenues for access to and update of the database.
Ensures the integrity of the data.
May oversee the design and maintenance of the data dictionary and retrieve transactions to ensure correct implementation and usage of the database.
Provides technical leadership for a complex Enterprise Data Warehouse operations and development program.
This is a high visibility role and offers an opportunity to lead the development of Enterprise Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Data Visualization solutions for our federal customer.
The Solution Architect’s primary responsibilities include developing data architecture strategy, data integration strategy, reference models, leading architecture evaluations, assessing impact of changes, and developing a master data management strategy.
Includes architecture delivery and governance to ensure alignment with agency data standards and vision.
Solution architectures will encompass data models, standard interfaces, metadata, master data, and best practices for data creation, usage, and messaging exchange.
The architect will also provide hands-on support in developing data solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering, business management, or related field with 12+ years of experience or equivalent.
12+ years of progressive experience in database management.
5+ years of related Government Contracting experience.
8 years managing large-scale, complex systems, including data warehousing and relational database concepts.
3+ years working on IT systems and software development projects using Agile/Kanban methodologies.
5 years of experience in solution design related to data modeling, message modeling, and integration.
Well-versed in data domains such as Analytics, BI, Big Data, Operational Data Store, Metadata, Master Data, and Unstructured Data.
Expertise in transformation techniques like aggregation, decomposition, and canonicalization.
Excellent communication skills, capable of facilitating meetings and delivering presentations to various audiences.
Professional confidence and credibility to communicate effectively with executive management and clients.
Resourceful problem-solver with attention to detail and organization skills.
Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with data modeling, data integration, profiling tools (e.g., ERwin, Embarcadero).
Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., SAP Data Services), data profiling tools, and processes.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range reflects the expected starting range, but actual offers may vary based on various factors. Compensation may include additional elements discussed during hiring. Employment is at-will, and GovCIO reserves the right to modify compensation at any time.
Posted Salary Range
USD $145,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
