Job Title: Design Director – Women’s, Plus-Size & Girls' Clothing Line

Now, we’re looking for a visionary Design Director to lead our next chapter.

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a creative and strategic leader with deep expertise in knits and activewear, who is passionate about inclusive design and has a strong sense of the evolving fashion landscape. As Design Director, you will shape the aesthetic, product direction, and long-term vision for our diverse brand portfolio. You’ll oversee everything from silhouette development to fabric innovation and ensure our collections resonate with consumers across body types, age ranges, and lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Creation: Oversee all aspects of our several brands: be key decision maker on brand’s aesthetic, design, silhouettes, and fabric/materials. Strong collaboration and partnership with PD and sourcing team regarding pricing, trims and approvals.
• Trend Research: Identify and integrate emerging fashion and lifestyle trends into commercially successful collections. Deep knowledge of the activewear market and shifting consumer preferences is essential. Adapting to the ever changing retail environment (in store and omni). Conduct thorough research on market trends in active and leisurewear markets.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the design, production, and merchandising teams to create cohesive collections that meet brand standards and production timelines. Lead our talented design team on key deliverables, be proactive and solution based, present clear priorities each week.
• Fit Strategy: Partner with technical design team to ensure proper fit for all sizes, from women's to plus-size, men’s and girls' clothing.
• Fabric Selection & Color Theory: Choose innovative, sustainable materials that align with both aesthetic vision and business goals.
• Brand Vision: Maintain and enhance the aesthetic direction of the brand while ensuring consistency across various product lines. As we continue to grow our brands, insight into developing brand identity, design and launch new brands under our umbrella. Understand how to build a winning brand aesthetic and DNA.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in fashion design, preferably in activewear apparel. You will lead the design team and partner with sales, sourcing and production team.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), ePLM, tech packs, and CAD. Familiarity with 3D design software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, color theory
• A compelling portfolio that showcases both design talent and commercial viability
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross functional partners.
