Director of Corporate & Americas Public Relations
Are you a seasoned PR leader with a passion for transforming complex B2B technologies into captivating corporate narratives? You'll play a pivotal role in showcasing how Fastly's network services, content delivery, edge computing, web application security, and observability tools are fundamentally changing how digital businesses build and operate on the internet. What You'll Do
Architect and Lead Corporate & Americas Communications: Design and execute holistic corporate communications strategies that directly contribute to Fastly's brand reputation, market leadership, and business growth.
Define and Amplify Corporate Thought Leadership: Partner directly with our visionary executive team and product leaders to unearth groundbreaking insights and translate them into compelling thought leadership platforms, positioning Fastly as a definitive voice in cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
Drive High-Impact Americas Media Engagement: Cultivate and expand relationships with top-tier enterprise IT and business journalists in the Americas, securing significant media coverage that articulates Fastly's innovation and market impact.
Lead and Empower Our Americas PR Engine: Oversee all corporate and product-related PR activities for the Americas region, including strategic external announcements, proactive press engagement, and identifying high-value speaking and awards opportunities. You'll lead and mentor our North America PR agency, ensuring peak performance and strategic alignment.
Strategic International Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with our International Communications Lead to ensure global message consistency and contribute to the overarching PR strategy, providing strategic input and supporting global efforts as needed.
Manage and Protect Fastly’s Reputation: Proactively monitor the media landscape in the Americas, analyze competitive share of voice, and develop robust strategies to enhance Fastly's public image. You'll be a critical partner in developing and executing crisis communication plans, safeguarding our brand integrity in high-stakes situations.
What We're Looking For
10+ years of progressive high-tech public relations experience, with a proven track record of elevating the media presence of B2B public companies.
Exceptional storytelling prowess: Your ability to distill complex technical concepts into accessible, compelling corporate narratives for a wide array of audiences is second to none.
Demonstrated leadership and agency management expertise: You have successfully led and optimized PR agencies within the North American market and managed significant communication budgets.
Executive Presence: A strong track record of confidently working with, influencing, and presenting to C-suite executives and senior leadership.
Strategic Agility: The ability to navigate a fast-paced, high-growth environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. We value resourceful problem-solvers who thrive on dynamic challenges.
Technical Acumen: A genuine curiosity and ability to quickly understand and operate effectively within a highly technical environment, specifically related to cloud, infrastructure, or cybersecurity.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
Deep Americas industry connections: Established relationships with influential media outlets and tech journalists in the enterprise IT, cloud, infrastructure services, or cybersecurity sectors across North and South America.
A portfolio of "gold-standard" corporate content: Examples of your exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills that have driven significant media impact.
Work Hours
This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
The estimated salary range for this position is $195,720 to $234,864.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
