NOTES

We are seeking an experienced Director of IT to develop and oversee the technology strategy, infrastructure, and operations for our growing single family office based in Los Angeles. This role will manage all technology systems across the principal’s primary estate, rental properties, and future estate acquisitions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational efficiency, and robust security. The Director of IT will manage vendor relationships, contracts and budgeting, provide device endpoint management and support for family office employees, and implement cybersecurity and data protection measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy to support the family office’s growth and objectives.
  • Design, implement, and maintain technology and A/V infrastructure for the principal’s primary estate, rental properties, and future estate acquisitions, ensuring scalability and integration.
  • Manage budgeting for IT hardware, software, and services, optimizing costs while meeting operational needs.
  • Oversee device endpoint management for employee computers, phones, and other devices, providing technical support and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Liaise closely with Estate Manager, Residential Security team and Executive Protection team to ensure alignment on security, privacy, and aesthetic goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, negotiating cost-effective solutions and ensuring service quality.
  • Support multi-site operations, traveling as needed to assess, install, upgrade, and troubleshoot systems across properties.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Foster a secure and efficient technology environment through employee training and proactive system maintenance.

  • Proven experience in IT leadership, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role at a venture capital firm, tech company, or single/multi family office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) are a plus.
  • Expertise in residential network architecture, cybersecurity, cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), endpoint management, and smart home automation platforms (Savant, Control4, Crestron, Lutron)
  • Strong budgeting and vendor management skills, with a track record of optimizing IT investments.
  • Experience managing IT for distributed environments, including residential properties, corporate offices, and hybrid work setups.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for multi-site management (primarily within California)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, balancing onsite presence in Los Angeles with remote flexibility.
