The Role
We are seeking a Vice President of Ecommerce & Digital capable of owning the full ecommerce funnel—from driving traffic to converting and retaining customers. You will lead the development and continuous optimization of our Shopify storefront, manage digital and email marketing efforts, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, high-converting online experience.
This role is ideal for a strategic self-starter who thrives in a lean environment and enjoys rolling up their sleeves across strategy, execution, and performance analysis. You must be a doer with a DIY attitude—someone who can manage everything themselves from day one. Over time, this role will evolve into leading and building out a high-performing ecommerce and digital team.
Key ResponsibilitiesEcommerce Platform Management
Own the redesign and implementation of our new website (first key objective for this role)
Own the performance, functionality, and user experience of the Shopify storefront
Identify and implement optimizations for conversion rate, site speed, navigation, mobile performance, and merchandising
Ensure website scores via PageSpeed are at least 80+ on mobile
Manage and prioritize Shopify app integrations, third-party tools, and site development projects in coordination with designers and developers
Manage, maintain, and setup SKUs and collection pages
Ensure all aspects of the website are SEO optimized
Maintain a fiscally minded approach in decision-making, ensuring alignment with company goals and profitability targets
Lead high-impact ad hoc initiatives from the co-founders or VP, focused on optimizing the website and e-commerce ecosystem
Own all major sales dates, ensuring seamless alignment across website content, promotions, and marketing campaigns
Mobile app
Own the Sun Home mobile app technology, design, interface, and capabilities with the goal of increasing user adoption and subscription acquisition
Work cross-functionally with our mobile-app development agency to optimize UI/UX and app features
Digital Marketing
Analytical and performance driven mindset when it comes to executing and managing marketing strategies
Oversee performance marketing strategy and execution across all direct response channels (paid search, paid social, retargeting, email, direct mail, influencer, and affiliate channels (with internal or external support)
Identify and execute key marketing strategies to help increase ROAS and incremental revenue
SEO veteran with proven methodologies on and off-site to improve our organic rankings across the search engines
Proficient skillset to run acquisition channels in-house if needed
Analyze and optimize ad spend and campaign performance to maximize ROI and CAC:LTV ratios
Collaborate on creative briefs and ensure alignment between brand, product, and performance goals
Email & Lifecycle Marketing
Highly skilled in configuring, executing, and analyzing campaigns in Klaviyo
Work directly with our email marketing agency to identify monthly topics, approve email drafts, optimize flows, etc.
Work cross-functionally with internal support and operations teams to ensure pre and post purchase flows are optimized
Own the customer journey via email and SMS, including segmentation, automated flows, and promotional campaigns
Monitor KPIs like open rate, click-through rate, conversion, and unsubscribe rate to continuously improve lifecycle performance
Data & Analytics
Masterful in Google Analytics, TripleWhale, and native ad platforms (Meta, Google, etc)
Track and report on key ecommerce KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, average order value (AOV), customer acquisition cost (CAC), and return on ad spend (ROAS)
Use data to drive iterative improvements across the funnel and identify new growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Creative, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to ensure consistent brand presentation and end-to-end customer satisfaction
Support product launches and seasonal campaigns with ecommerce planning and execution
Evaluate and manage relationships with ecommerce vendors, agencies, and freelancers
Serve as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert in technological improvements, including software implementations and business application integrations
Qualifications
7+ years of ecommerce and digital marketing experience, including direct management of a Shopify storefront
Proven track record in digital marketing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and performance analytics
Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo), Google Analytics, and Shopify apps
Strong project management skills and comfort balancing strategy and execution
Data-driven mindset with a focus on testing and optimization
Experience in a growth-stage or startup environment strongly preferred
