Overview Director of Revenue Accounting/SEC Reporting at Strava. What You’ll Do SEC & Technical Accounting Lead preparation of all key SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring quality and compliance at every step. Partner closely with external auditors, Legal, FP&A, and Investor Relations to deliver transparent and aligned disclosures. Maintain and evolve accounting policies (with particular focus on revenue recognition). Assess new accounting pronouncements, collaborating across teams to ensure thoughtful adoption and clear communication of impacts. Determine treatment for non-standard or complex transactions; document and collaborate with external auditors. Lead the monthly and quarterly accounting close package, including preparation of consolidated financial statements. Revenue Ensure all revenue-generating transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in line with Strava’s revenue recognition policy. Oversee non-subscription revenue, including Strava for Business (SfB) invoicing, recognition, and collections. Partner with Product, Legal, and Finance to proactively evaluate revenue implications of new product features, pricing models, and contract negotiations. Collaborate with Data and Engineering to design automation and build SOX-compliant controls for contract intake and revenue reporting. What You’ll Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 10-15+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, including Big 4 and corporate experience (public company preferred). Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting (especially revenue recognition). Demonstrated experience leading SEC filings and managing external auditor relationships. Proven leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams. Strong communicator who can translate complex accounting matters into clear business language. Experience with process automation, systems design, and internal controls (SOX). Compensation Overview At Strava, compensation and total rewards reflect that our employees are essential. We take a market-based approach to pay, and salaries vary by department and location. Salary ranges are categorized into tiers based on geographic cost of labor. Starting pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. This range reflects base compensation only and does not include equity or benefits.
