Position Summary The Director of Sales – Target Division will be responsible for driving sales strategy, account management, and business growth within Mad Engine’s Target partnership. This role requires strong leadership in managing key retailer relationships, developing assortments aligned with Target’s merchandising strategy, and collaborating with internal cross-functional teams to deliver on revenue and profitability goals. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in mass retail sales, account management, and building long-term retail partnerships. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead the sales strategy, planning, and execution for the Target account to meet and exceed revenue and margin goals. Partner with Target's buying and merchandising teams to develop assortments tailored to consumer demand and retailer objectives. Collaborate with internal design, production, sourcing, and licensing teams to ensure product lines meet timelines, cost targets, and brand standards. Develop and present line reviews, sales recaps, and growth opportunities directly to Target stakeholders. Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional strategies to optimize profitability while supporting Target's business needs. Analyze business performance, POS data, and consumer trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly. Build and strengthen cross-functional relationships with Target account managers, replenishment, and merchandising teams. Partner with supply chain and operations to ensure on-time delivery, inventory management, and in-stock position. Provide leadership and mentorship to support staff, fostering collaboration and accountability. Serve as the key liaison for Target within Mad Engine, ensuring seamless communication and execution across all business units. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of sales/account management experience, preferably within apparel, accessories, or licensed goods, with a strong background in mass retail. Proven track record of managing Target or similar big-box retail accounts. Strong understanding of merchandising, retail math, product costing, and margin management. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with demonstrated success in building long-term retail partnerships. Ability to analyze POS and market data to drive business decisions. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (design, merchandising, production, sourcing, supply chain). Experience in licensed or branded product development preferred. Exceptional organizational and leadership skills. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs, occasionally up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
