Overview Join to apply for the Director of Software role at MatX . MatX is developing vertically integrated full-stack solutions from silicon to systems to train and run the largest ML workloads for AGI. We are looking for people who are excited about systems-focused ML research. Responsibilities Own the overall execution and delivery of the compiler and kernels for MatX hardware Support technical leads in developing and maintaining the technical direction and roadmap for compiler and kernel development Build and track team schedules, assess feasibility, and monitor progress against key milestones Manage and mentor the engineering team, focusing on skill development and performance growth Lead the hiring process to grow the team with top engineering talent Engage in technical designs, reviews, and implementation in addition to management responsibilities Qualifications Successfully delivered a complete software stack for an ML Accelerator Example companies: Groq, GraphCore, SambaNova, Cerebras, Google XLA Compiler, JAX team, Meta PyTorch team, OpenAI Triton team 10+ years of team leadership experience and will oversee a 20+ person team within our Software organization Deep expertise in ML compilers and ML kernel development Hybrid role requiring work from our Mountain View, CA office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) Compensation & Benefits The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors, including role, experience, location, job-related skills, and relevant education and training. Offers may include equity in lieu of cash.
