The Director, Renewals Membership plays a pivotal role in the ongoing success and profitability of the organization by overseeing the membership renewal marketing efforts via digital and offline channels. This cross-functional position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to maximize membership renewals and drive long-term revenue growth by integrating with membership lifecycle teams. The Director of Renewals supervises a team of channel managers and collaborates closely with operations, member engagement, finance, and business analytics teams.
Responsibilities Oversees and provides strategic marketing expertise for customer business campaigns to achieve varied KPIs, which may include managing daily proposals and presentation development for customers.
Provide strategic thought leadership and lead brainstorming across projects and programs to create innovative marketing approaches and actionable big ideas that meet customer or business objectives and KPIs.
Leads the development of annual strategic marketing plans to achieve goals and objectives for the business.
Oversees quality control of the messaging and communication strategy in marketing communications.
Tracks metrics and success criteria for marketing programs and activities to inform marketing direction.
Manages a marketing team and demonstrates professional cultural attributes and behaviors in all internal and external interactions. Derives actionable insights and makes strategic recommendations to optimize future strategies, plans, and tactics.
Partners with key stakeholders to synthesize strategic inputs and apply audience insights.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
8+ years of experience in renewals, direct response, digital, or subscription marketing.
Proven success designing and executing B2C renewal strategies.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team management/development experience.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Experience with subscription business models, financial modeling, revenue forecasting, analytics, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) preferred.
