ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

Our small MEP engineering firm is seeking a full-time Electrical Designer, with remote and hybrid work options.

The firm was founded to provide collaborative and innovative engineering solutions for the built environment. We value and support resource and work/life balance, communal ownership, and regional workplaces utilizing local staff and resources. Our designs and studies explore new technologies while maintaining quality, practical solutions that are integrated with scope, budgets, and schedules. Our strengths lie in listening to client requirements and finding effective and efficient solutions. We have extensive experience with LEED/Sustainability needs as part of the system designs for HVAC, lighting, power, and emergency systems. We analyze and develop strategies that minimize operation costs, maximize natural lighting and ventilation, while providing for comfort of visitors and staff.

About Us :

We are a minority-woman owned engineering design firm with 3 offices in the San Francisco area. Our mission, and passion, is to create stronger communities through inspired, practical, and sustainable MEP building designs. Our team is driven to create designs that impact a diverse range of tenants and buildings from existing, historic, new buildings, to ferry, parks and educational facilities. Our clients range from large construction companies to boutique architectural firms to state, city, county and local government agencies. In 2023, we celebrated our 15 year milestone with pride, having completed over 1,000,000 square feet of integrated MEP designs for multi-family projects, serving the low-income, elderly, and formerly homeless population.

Electrical Designer

Hybrid Position

Responsibilities Include :

• Power and Lighting for multi-family housing, civic buildings, and schools
• Low voltage: data, phone, access control, security
• Service load calculations
• Circuiting of floor plans and panel schedules.
• Project completion (from concept through construction administration)
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Experience :

• Revit experience and/or strong Auto CAD skills
• Knowledge of current codes (both local and national, Cal Green, and Title-24)
• Experience using energy software (Energy Pro, Visual 3D)
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical design
• (PE license is NOT required but is a plus)

Hybrid : 2-3 days in office, the remaining days can be remote.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, vacation time, paid holidays, company events, and a flexible work environment.

Wage: $42/hour and up depending on experience
