Job Summary We are currently seeking an Engineer to join our San Francisco Electrical team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. As the Engineer, you will perform a variety of electrical engineering and design activities for diverse projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff, emphasizing innovation and sustainability. You will represent the firm and interact with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. Strong initiative and follow-through are essential. Core Responsibilities Work closely with senior engineers through electrical design and construction administration processes. Create and implement electrical designs in a BIM environment. Conduct analyses, review data, and prepare design options, recommendations, and cost estimates for review by senior staff. Assist in planning and designing code-compliant electrical systems for commercial facilities, including education, healthcare, office, data centers, life sciences, and other projects. Review electrical design and development plans and project cost estimates with senior engineers. Implement quality assurance procedures during electrical design (e.g., design checklists, interdisciplinary coordination). Propose innovative solutions to design problems. Coordinate project scope, design, and deadlines with project managers and document changes. Assist with preparing Basis of Design (BOD) reports and technical documentation. Perform calculations such as voltage drop, short-circuit, and arc flash studies. Edit specifications to match project requirements. Review submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs. May serve as a field engineer during construction site visits and prepare reports. Design lighting and control systems with the lighting team. Act as a technical advisor to junior staff. Manage tasks to ensure timely and within-budget completion. Participate in design and construction meetings. Coordinate with colleagues across disciplines and support project leads. Maintain relationships with stakeholders. Ensure compliance with local codes and LEED standards. Perform other initiatives as assigned. Ideal Candidate Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes. Excellent communication skills. S solutions-driven, team-oriented engineer. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of contract and construction documents. Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and other software. Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Engineer in Training (EIT) license. Professional Engineer (PE) license or pursuing it. LEED accreditation. Essential Requirements 3-6 years of relevant experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and local building codes. Salary Range This hybrid role requires working at our San Francisco, CA office. The expected salary range is $85,000 - $120,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This salary range may not reflect positions in other states. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
