The role combines people leadership with hands-on coding and live game support, leading a distributed team with a mix of engineering skill levels to tackle live game challenges and extensions of the title. You will translate vision into technical strategy, collaborate across product, design, production, and other stakeholders, and drive high-quality experiences on time. What You’ll Do Manage a pod of engineers on a daily basis, focusing on tasks, morale, career growth, and future planning Assist with feature and systems implementation (and bug fixes) in Unity with C#, PHP, and React Manage live user-facing issues as they arise Define and scope tasks, systems, and timelines Review and contribute to engineering architectures Monitor and improve engineering process Mentor and grow engineers on the team What You Bring 4+ years experience as an Engineering Manager 8+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer Good working knowledge of Unity, C#, PHP, and React (or similar front-end technologies) Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software methodologies Prior game development experience (shipped titles or live games) Excellent communication and collaborative skills Ability to build, manage, mentor, and lead multiple teams of engineers Proven track record of hiring candidates for multiple positions Ability to collaborate with engineering stakeholders including design, UX, product, and analytics Bonus Points Strong understanding of good user experience Mobile development experience (iOS and/or Android) Experience with C/C++ or similar languages Server experience (web services, databases, data analytics) Strong planning, estimation, problem solving, and status communication Always learning and updating knowledge Experience with Git What We Offer You Zynga offers a world-class benefits package. Base pay is location-based and may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors. The total compensation may include bonus and/or equity, 401(k) eligibility, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
