We are looking for an experienced and passionate Executive Creative Director to join us in our mission to motivate the world to be more active. You will lead a talented team of brand designers, copywriters, production artists while partnering closely with marketing (growth, product & brand) and external agencies. This leader will lead the creative pillar within a broader design org and will work closely with product design, design systems and user research in addition to our marketing and communications teams.We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site in either our NYC, NY or SF, CA office — three days per week.YouWhat You’ll Do:Be insatiably curious about understanding active people and what motivates them so that we can find even more meaningful ways for Strava to add value to their lives.Have the desire to build something and get your hands dirty while doing it. Strava is a strong brand with tremendous opportunity to recruit more people to the community with marketing creativity that makes the brand magnetic.Collaborate across product, marketing, communications, partnerships and revenue functions at all levels to elevate the brand expression in the athlete’s heart and mind.Be data obsessed in driving growth via data-backed marketing communications and in product messaging that drives awareness, comprehension, and usage of product offerings. Pay attention to details and numbers to ensure creative output for launches has business impact.Value creativity and measurement, ensuring the company understands how brand creative drives short-term and long-term outcomes.Inspire the organization to dream big about the Strava brand, bringing it to life in key cultural moments that elevate our brand and drive conversation while reinforcing brand values.Drive the brand through social and owned channels and paid media opportunities, focusing on strategies beyond traditional TV/OOH campaigns.You Will Be Successful Here By:Being an exceptional and seasoned creative leader with proven ability to drive cross-functional partnerships and strong visual and copy/content leadership.Championing simplicity and clarity to unlock relevance with broader audiences.Being a strategic thought partner to the marketing team, translating marketing strategy into creative direction with a proven process.Living the brand values, leading with authenticity, compassion, and inclusivity, and building a high-performing, diverse creative team.What You’ll Bring to the Team:15+ years or equivalent experience in building digital brands, with expertise in marketing communications, organic social media, product messaging and growth marketing.A respected leader who can motivate and lead from the front, with strong emotional intelligence.Global leadership experience with a portfolio demonstrating creative excellence.Ability to lead and empower a creative team with a clear vision and direction for the brand voice.Data-obsessed with strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into creative decisions.Comfort operating without a strict playbook, driving a culture of creativity, experimentation, and learning.Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment, including experience directing contractors, agencies, and in-house designers.Interest in driving brand awareness with minimal investment in traditional film/TV/OOH and a willingness to explore non-traditional channels.Compensation Overview:At Strava, compensation and total rewards reflect the value of our employees. Salary ranges are market-based and vary by department and location. Starting pay is based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions. The range and ranges may be modified in the future. Compensation: $255,000 - $265,000 base. This does not include equity or benefits.
