The Sr Financial Analyst for Expense Planning and Consolidation is a central role in the Planning Center of Excellence (COE) to bring together data, analytics and insights to the forefront. Reporting to the Head of Expenses COE (Sr. Director), this person is responsible for supporting comprehensive FP&A activities and decision support for overall Visa Inc Operating Expense. The position will drive expense consolidation and analysis, monthly reporting, and baseline planning. The team supports Visa’s senior executives, Corporate FP&A and the broader FP&A organization worldwide, with exposure to the full Visa Inc P&L and collaboration with Controllership, People team and the financial systems team.
Essential Functions
- Support baseline planning for all multi-year Financial planning cycles including monthly and quarterly reporting, forecasting, and annual budgeting by standardizing central models (e.g., Region and Function Matrix), consolidating expense baseline and first-level variance analysis for Visa Inc.
- Financial Insights and Reporting: Coordinate with the Reporting Shared Serviced Center (SSC) to prepare routine and ad-hoc reports. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision making and standardization of data, analysis and processes across the organization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely across Planning COE and broader Finance to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and optimize forecasting, reporting and budget processes. Leverage strong communication skills to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptive Planning: Quickly adjust expense planning models, analysis and processes in response to changes in the business environment, market conditions, and organizational priorities, maintaining high performance and resilience.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor\'s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
- Superior technical, quantitative and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, oral, and presentational skills and ability to interact at all levels.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Problem solving abilities with a “working smarter not harder” approach and apply creative solutions to complex problems
- Team player, ability to effectively interact with other team members and managers
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor\'s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Expert level Excel and advanced proficiency with planning and reporting systems (e.g. Oracle EPM); knowledge of Tableau is a bonus
- Experience in Corporate FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or Public Accounting preferred
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
