The opportunity Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team is growing, and as a Senior Manager in our Technical Accounting Advisory Group (TAAG), you will play a key role in that growth. You will work across all industries, developing career-wide capabilities by communicating strategic goals and listening to and understanding our clients to deliver exceptional experiences in a field with no off-the-shelf answers. As part of our Technical Accounting Advisory Group, you will help companies manage complex financial and accounting issues related to consolidation and joint ventures, IPOs, business combinations, compensation, revenue recognition, derivatives and hedging, debt vs. equity, SEC reporting, leases, and more. This is a highly visible role with interaction across EY FAAS and audit teams and clients, offering a fast-paced opportunity to deepen technical accounting expertise. Your Key Responsibilities Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines; build relationships; identify opportunities to apply knowledge to client needs. Manage and execute complex technical accounting projects; adapt to varying project requirements and timelines. Engage with clients directly; occasionally travel to meet key clients. Skills And Attributes For Success Consulting with clients on complex and technical accounting issues Collaborating with partners and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations Ensuring engagement teams understand clients’ needs and ambitions Building cross-service-line relationships to provide seamless service Strong project management of complex technical accounting; realistic time budgeting Thorough understanding of US GAAP; strong technical writing and presentation skills Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary Driver’s license recommended; reliable transportation to EY offices and client sites Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; CPA certification; at least 8 years of work experience At least 2 years of experience across 3+ industries/sectors with varied technical accounting analysis Experience in lessee accounting under ASC 842 (including complex issues); sale-leaseback and build-to-suit; lease impairment analysis Public accounting experience (3–5 years) with technical/highly complex analysis; memo writing Strong technical writing and presentation skills; knowledge of US GAAP; ability to research and resolve issues Experience mentoring and managing a high-performing team Ability to travel and work flexible hours Access to reliable transportation to EY offices and client sites Ideally You Will Also Have IFRS experience as preparer, auditor, or advisor Experience with ASC 842 lessor accounting; interaction with ASC 606 for lessor arrangements Asset accounting experience (PP&E), impairment, capitalization, and related topics Inventory accounting and costing knowledge; manufacturing costs and variances Knowledge of government grants, environmental credits, and related areas What We Look For We seek versatile people who can take on new responsibilities, listen to clients, and deliver results.
