Position Summary
Department
Finance
This individual is responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and statistical reports that tell the story of the Credit Union’s financial position. Provide expert level understanding of financial initiatives and the ability to work with the Vice President of Finance to achieve the Credit Union’s strategic vision. Ensure reports, accounts, systems, policies and practices adhere to California DBO and NCUA rules and regulations.
Essential Duties
- Actively completes all necessary tasks related to the financial functions of the credit union which will include: annual budgets, multi-year strategic plans, asset-liability management, investments, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
- Monitors, forecasts and reports on the liquidity position and needs of the Credit Union. Responsible for ensuring all cash and liquidity needs are satisfied and all regulatory guidelines are followed.
- Prepares annual budget, including; identifying key initiatives, expense sensitivities, fixed asset and salary planning needs and growth strategies as identified by senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Prepares and verifies the accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial statement packages.
- Responsible for the supervision of the Credit Union’s ALM model including making assumption recommendations and reviewing required regulatory reporting.
- Reviews and interprets reports generated from ALM model.
- Works cooperatively with the Lending Department and ALCO to determine profitable deposit and loans rates, while effectively employing the risk-adjusted return on capital model.
- Oversees Finance dashboard maintenance for use by senior management, including creating new dashboards with requested information from management.
- Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters.
- Analyzes existing and proposed procedures, systems and requirements to determine present and future financial performance.
- All team members must comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. This includes the SAFE Act. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Finance and/or Treasury
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Members and other Team Members at the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute dividends and interest.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
