Job Summary:
As the Financial Controller at Swyft, Inc., you will lead the operational accounting functions and financial reporting processes remotely. This critical role ensures the accuracy of financial operations, adherence to internal controls, and the development of Finance modules in NetSuite. You will serve as a key leader within the Finance team, driving operational excellence and fostering collaboration with partners across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the global financial accounting team, fostering professional growth, and ensuring timely and accurate accounting operations.
Operational Accounting: Oversee operational accounting functions, including banking, payables, receivables, travel expenses, credit cards, and general ledger accounting.
Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Internal Controls: Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
Compliance: Communicate, enforce, and enhance internal control compliance within Purchase to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash, and Record to Reporting processes.
NetSuite Development: Collaborate on the development of Finance modules in NetSuite, focusing on accounting and reporting requirements.
Operational Excellence: Play a critical role in driving operational excellence within the Finance department and across cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, and People.
Accounting Policy: Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and processes.
Qualifications:
NetSuite experience is required. Candidate should be a NetSuite Ninja.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Master's degree in Accounting/Business or a qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or auditor).
Experience:
3+ years of accounting experience, including auditing at a Big-4 auditor firm with progression to manager level.
2+ years of experience with NetSuite closing the year-end journal.
7+ years of professional accounting experience in a corporate environment, with at least 4 years as a people manager.
Experience in a publicly listed company and/or IPO readiness preparation.
Prior technology startup experience.
Experience in designing, building, and implementing financial processes, controls, and systems.
Experience working in a global business environment.
Experience in a retail environment is a plus.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and a hands-on mindset.
Personal accountability.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building, developing, and managing teams.
Expertise in internal controls is required for U.S. accounting and financial reporting.
Must be ready to supervise a staff of four people located across various time zones.
Certifications:
CPA a plus but not required.

Description: Skilled in designing, building, and enhancing financial systems and processes. Demonstrates proficiency in using and developing NetSuite's Finance modules tailored to company needs.
Indicators:
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes.
Plays a pivotal role in the development and optimization of NetSuite for accounting and reporting needs.
Regulatory Compliance and Internal Controls
Description: Ensures compliance with financial regulations and enhances internal control compliance across various economic processes, safeguarding company assets and ensuring integrity in financial operations.
Indicators:
Develops and enforces internal controls and compliance measures within financial operations.
Stays updated with regulatory requirements affecting financial reporting and operations.
Global Operational Insight
Description: Possesses experience in managing financial operations in a global business environment, understanding diverse financial landscapes and cultural nuances.
Indicators:
Efficiently manages and integrates financial operations across multiple global locations.
Addresses and resolves complex global financial issues.
Communication and Collaboration
Description: Exhibits excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Promotes collaboration across departments to achieve business objectives.
Indicators:
Maintains clear, continuous communication with the CFO and other department leaders.
Facilitates partnerships with Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, and HR to drive operational synergies.
Work Environment:
Full-time, fully remote work, preference given to persons located in the Pacific Time Zone but all US-Based applicants welcome.
Compensation And Benefits:
Competitive salary of $150K per year.
