Overview
Klavis AI provides open-source MCP integration for AI applications, enabling enterprise-grade MCP servers to integrate with AI applications quickly. We've raised $2.1min seed round from HSG( formerly known as Sequoia China ), Y Combinator and top-tier investors, and our open-source tools are already used by thousands of developers
As a founding engineer, you’ll turn prototypes into production-grade services, powering everything from MCP servers to authentication, eval, security systems.
You’ll collaborate directly with the founders to design scalable systems, and work hand-in-hand with open-source contributors and early adopters. If you’re passionate about building startup, developer experience, and building tools that enable AI applications to run reliably at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and operate secure MCP server
Build orchestration and deployment pipelines
Develop intuitive APIs for provisioning, scaling, and monitoring MCP instances
Engage with users and community contributors to gather feedback, publish technical docs, and grow our ecosystem
Contribute to product strategy, technical research, and long-term vision across the stack
Qualifications
[Required]
2+ years building and operating production infrastructure services
Proficiency in one or more of: Python, TypeScript
Hands-on experience with containers, serverless platforms (e.g., Cloud Run)
Strong understanding of authentication, authorization
Passion for developer tools, open-source communities, and AI infrastructure
Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
[Preferred]
Open-source contributions in infra-related projects or MCP/AI Agent frameworks
Prior work on AI-centric tooling, prompt-engineering platforms, or guardrail systems
AI research experience in industry

Process
We move fast but thoughtfully. The process includes:
One Take-Home Code Challenge, 1-2 screening interviews (prefer in-person) focused on real-world problem solving,no prep required.
A paid work trial: ideally 2+ weeks working together on a real-world project.
Bonus: Try out Klavis or contribute to our MCP Servers or docs, candidates who show initiative stand out.
