Base pay range $135,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Job Summary
The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of electrical and hardware engineers in the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of remote retail systems. This role combines technical leadership with project management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality hardware solutions that align with strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary hardware engineering team.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture that promotes technical excellence.
Responsibility 2: Hardware Design & Development
Oversee the design of PCB layouts, embedded systems, power supplies, and signal integrity.
Drive design verification, validation, and documentation processes to meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibility 3: Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure product integration and development alignment.
Responsibility 4: Project & Resource Management
Define project scopes, allocate resources, manage schedules, and ensure delivery on time and within quality targets.
Identify and proactively resolve technical bottlenecks and risks.
Responsibility 5: Regulatory & Quality Compliance
Ensure all hardware meets applicable safety, industry, and regulatory standards such as FCC, CE, and UL.
Maintain strong quality processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibility 6: Vendor and Tool Management
Evaluate and select external vendors, tools, and development technologies.
Work closely with contract manufacturers and apply DFM/DFT principles.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
10+ years of experience in hardware development.
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role with a proven track record of delivering products from concept to production.
Skills
Strong experience in PCB design, analog/digital circuits, signal integrity, and embedded hardware.
Proficiency with tools such as Altium, OrCAD, SPICE simulators, and lab test equipment.
Familiarity with hardware development life cycles and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Certifications
None required; certifications in hardware or regulatory compliance are a plus.
Other
Experience working with contract manufacturers and understanding of DFM/DFT best practices. NetSuite project management experience is a plus.

Work Environment
Flexible work environment including on-site, hybrid, or remote options. Hands-on lab work and collaboration with cross-functional teams may require in-person attendance as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
