Head of Community & Insights

New Today

Hi, I’m Aizada — Co-Founder and CEO at Alma.
At Alma, we’re on a mission to make immigration more accessible, transparent, and human — through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful legal support. We’re backed by top-tier investors like Bling Capital, Village Global, Forerunner, NEA, NFX, Conviction, and Silkroad Innovation, and built by a team with experience at Cooley, McKinsey, Bain, EY, and Uber. Our legal bench includes former attorneys and paralegals from Fragomen, Ogletree, BAL, and Kramer.
We’re looking for a Head of Community & Insights to help Alma become the most trusted voice in global mobility and immigration. If you’ve worked on best-in-class immigration programs, love connecting with peers, and find joy in turning conversations into clarity — you’ll thrive in this role.
You’ll lead curated events, publish high-signal content, and build lasting relationships with the people shaping how companies handle cross-border talent. You’ll also have the space to do things thoughtfully — we care deeply about quality, and avoid quick hacks in favor of systems that scale with care.
If this sounds like you, I’d love to connect.
What You’ll Do
As the Head of Community & Insights, you’ll help Alma become the most trusted voice in global mobility. You’ll build strong relationships with HR and mobility leaders at top companies, run curated events, publish practical insights, and help bring clarity to an often confusing immigration landscape.
Here’s what you can expect to spend your time on:
Lead Alma’s community strategy — design and run programs that engage mobility professionals, from roundtables and executive dinners to Slack groups and 1:1 connections Write and publish insights — own Alma’s newsletter and distill immigration updates, compliance risks, and policy shifts into practical takeaways for busy teams Run high-quality events — plan and host virtual and in-person gatherings that are intimate, relevant, and actually worth attending Host or produce a podcast — help launch a series featuring real conversations with leading voices in mobility and immigration Be the internal voice of the community — surface insights from conversations to inform our product, legal, and content strategies Build trusted relationships — become a go-to resource for Heads of Mobility, HR, Talent, and Legal across Alma’s client and partner ecosystem
You Should Apply If:
You have 6+ years of experience in global mobility or immigration — ideally at a top-tier tech company, F1000, consulting firm, etc. with a best-in-class program. You’ve worked with U.S. employment-based immigration (e.g. O-1, H-1B, L-1, PERM, EB-1/2) and understand how companies manage risk, timelines, and employee trust You’re energized by real conversations — you ask great questions, build long-term trust, and enjoy connecting with peers You’ve hosted or participated in events, moderated panels, or contributed to a professional community in meaningful ways You’re a clear, curious communicator — strong in writing and live discussions, able to turn complexity into clarity You’re excited to shape public conversations — via newsletters, interviews, panels, and potentially a podcast You’ve written for professional audiences — whether on LinkedIn, in internal memos, client updates, or published content You’re comfortable with ambiguity and love building things from scratch — content programs, event strategy, systems, or creative formats You’re already connected to the mobility ecosystem — through Slack groups, conferences, industry orgs like ERC or SHRM, or your own network
You should NOT apply if:
You’ve never worked in immigration, mobility, or people operations and don’t have a point of view on the space You prefer to stay behind the scenes — this role involves public-facing work like events, interviews, and content You’re looking for a role with a fully built playbook — this one requires writing the playbook as you go You’re not excited about writing — this is a hands-on content role, not just editorial direction You prefer managing a team over executing yourself — this is a player role, not a player-coach (yet)
What It’s Like To Work At Alma
We’re a small, mission-driven team reimagining immigration from the ground up. That means we value thoughtful writing, cross-functional collaboration, and building systems that scale with care. We move fast, work across disciplines, and are always learning from our clients and from each other.
We're remote-first, low-ego, and genuinely care about creating better outcomes for GloMo professionals, immigrants and their families.
Benefits & Perks
You’ll have the space to do things thoughtfully. We care deeply about quality — whether it’s a newsletter, an event, or a client conversation — and avoid quick hacks in favor of systems that scale with care. Competitive base salary range based on experience Performance-based incentives (equity/sales commission) Monthly Health insurance reimbursement (HRA) Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive! A front-row seat to startup growth, with mentorship from legal, tech, and business leaders Opportunities to shape internal systems, lead on strategy, and build something new
A Quick Note
