What You’ll Do
As Head of Events, you will lead Brex’s event strategy and execution at a global scale. You’ll set the vision for how events drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth, while managing a high-performing events team. You will oversee the entire events portfolio — from flagship conferences and partner activations to regional programs and executive engagements — ensuring every experience reflects Brex’s brand and business priorities. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating company goals into event programs that build pipeline, deepen customer relationships, and reinforce Brex’s position as a category leader.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in our San Francisco office. You will be required to work in-office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We offer up to four weeks per year of fully remote work as a perk.
Responsibilities
Define the overarching global events strategy, ensuring it is tightly aligned with business objectives, revenue goals, and brand priorities.
Partner with executives and cross-functional leaders to prioritize and resource events that maximize impact.
Manage and mentor a world-class events team, providing guidance, coaching, and clear success metrics.
Establish best practices, scalable processes, and a culture of innovation within the events function.
Oversee the planning and execution of Brex’s entire event portfolio, including large-scale user conferences, high-profile industry activations, regional events, and bespoke executive experiences.
Ensure consistent brand representation and storytelling across all event touchpoints.
Innovate on event formats to differentiate Brex in a competitive fintech landscape.
Own the events budget and resource allocation, balancing efficiency with world-class execution.
Negotiate high-value contracts with vendors, venues, and partners to ensure maximum ROI.
Leverage data and analytics to measure event performance, generate insights, and continuously optimize programs.
Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Communications to integrate events into larger go-to-market campaigns.
Build and nurture relationships with industry partners, influencers, and associations to amplify Brex’s visibility and influence.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in event marketing/strategy, with at least 2+ years leading an events team.
Proven track record of developing and executing large-scale event strategies that deliver measurable business results.
Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, managing, and scaling high-performing teams.
Expertise in contract negotiation, budget oversight, and vendor/agency management.
Exceptional communication skills and executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Analytical, data-driven mindset with experience using insights to optimize programs.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities; resourceful and solutions-oriented.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for key events.
Bonus Points
Experience leading user conferences at scale.
Knowledge of fintech, SaaS, or B2B enterprise technology.
Proficiency with tools such as Salesforce, Marketo, Monday.com, Splash, and Ironclad.
Ability to pivot quickly, maintain composure, and inspire your team with positivity and humor.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $175,000-$215,000 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
