Location: Remote in USA only; periodic travel to Seattle, Bay Area for team and client meetings.

Compensation: $200K - $215K upon funding.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader driving core AI model development and deployment efforts.
• Define and execute the AI and ML strategy, ensuring neuro-symbolic, human-in-the-loop applied vertical AI and agentic AI ecosystem solutions are robust, scalable, and state-of-the-art.
• Oversee the full ML project lifecycle—from research and prototyping to model training, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Mentor a team of ML engineers and data scientists; foster innovation and engineering excellence in areas such as natural language understanding, knowledge graph reasoning, and reinforcement learning for agentic behavior.
• Embed within early customer environments to understand context, challenges, needs, and use cases to maximize relevance, adoption, and transformative value, during sales, onboarding, use, impact, and renewal phases.
• Contribute to product-market fit, use case validation, reference ability, and renewal expansion through hands-on leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 5–10+ years of AI/ML experience, including at least 5 years building and deploying ML models and several years in a leadership or tech lead role.
• Strong programming skills in Python; proficiency in C++ or Java.
• Recent experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience in distributed computing or big data (Spark, Hadoop).
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure, with experience addressing scaling issues.
• Balanced scientist and engineer: solid theoretical foundation in AI (algorithms, statistics, deep learning) and practical coding skills to implement and optimize models.
• Track record delivering AI solutions into production, including scaling, data quality considerations, and monitoring live model performance.
• Early-stage startup experience preferred.
• Team player with a hands-on development approach.
• Master’s or PhD in a related field; publications or patents are a plus.
• Citizen or Green Card Holder; not able to sponsor at this time.
