Rothwell Figg is seeking an experienced associate to join our litigation practice in Washington, DC. The associate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of intellectual property litigation matters concerning patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as post-grant proceedings at the USPTO, opinions, counseling, and transactions. This role is ideal for a candidate seeking to advance their career within an exciting and fast-paced high-tech litigation group.
Responsibilities
Contribute to a broad range of IP litigation matters, including patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks.
Participate in post-grant proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Prepare opinions, counseling, and transactional work as required.
Engage in legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy; take ownership of projects and assume increasing responsibilities for client matters.
Collaborate with a team of attorneys and staff in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Qualifications
Two to five years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or copyright litigation.
An undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, or Physics, or equivalent industry experience, is required.
Outstanding legal research and analytical abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented approach.
Admission to the state bar in which you practice; DC Bar admission is required. Registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred but not required.
Location and Schedule
The position is based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work schedule. Rothwell Figg offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
Compensation
Salary range: $235,000 to $310,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
