The Opportunity: The Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of the Bailard, Inc. Human Resources team and is an integral position for the organization, reporting to the Vice President, Head of Human Resources. The Human Resources Business Partner will support HR initiatives and, with guidance from the Vice President, collaborate with department leaders to deliver strategic HR solutions aligned with the company’s goals. This role involves fostering a positive work environment, driving employee engagement, and supporting talent management efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration: Manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing in collaboration with the finance team.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies; provide HR metrics and reports to management.
HR Systems & Processes: Support HRIS and other HR systems to maintain accurate employee data and ensure smooth operations.
Talent Management: Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and performance management processes.
HR Administration: Maintain HR records and ensure legal and policy compliance.
Employee Engagement: Implement initiatives to enhance workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and professional development programs.
Policy and Procedure Support: Develop and communicate HR policies across departments.
HR Reporting and Analytics: Collect and analyze HR data to inform workforce planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
3+ years in HR, including payroll experience
Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and payroll processes
Proficiency in HR software (HRIS, payroll systems, ATS)
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Discretion in handling sensitive information
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with payroll platforms like ADP, Paycor
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
Knowledge of compliance regulations related to payroll and benefits

Work Location: Offices in San Francisco and Foster City; primarily hybrid from San Francisco, with remote work two days a week. No relocation or sponsorship provided.
