The Position
Wilson Elser's Intellectual Property and Technology Team is looking for an Associate Attorney. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background interested in working on IP, technology, privacy, AI, data governance, internet law, and advertising law at a national level. The position is available in our East Meadow or White Plains, NY offices, with potential for other locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a litigation caseload and advising clients on IP, data privacy, technology, and AI governance/compliance.
Collaborating with attorneys and partners on legal projects.
Handling lawsuits involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade libel, and data privacy issues.
Advising clients on data privacy compliance, AI governance, and related policies and training.
Assisting with transactional matters such as licensing, purchase and sale agreements, and collaboration agreements.
Communicating with clients and providing regular updates.
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice in New York State and at least one federal court in NY.
5+ years of experience in IP litigation.
Experience with federal and state court litigation, motions, and depositions.
Preferred experience in privacy, AI, data governance, and related fields.
Additional experience in advertising, art, fashion, internet law, or transactional work is a plus.
Strong analytical, writing, client service, and communication skills.
Compensation is influenced by various factors, including experience and location. The salary range is $155,000–$200,000 USD, with potential bonuses and benefits such as 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off.
