Manager of Talent Acquisition & DEI at GFOA Are you passionate about using your technology knowledge to drive mission-focused outcomes? The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is seeking an IT Business Partner to help align technology initiatives with organizational priorities. This role serves as a strategic liaison between GFOA’s business units and IT vendors , ensuring that technology supports and enhances GFOA’s operations, member services, and long-term goals. The ITBP will manage system enhancements, coordinate with vendors, and business processes to ensure effective use of technology. This is a hybrid position requiring in-person work at GFOA’s Chicago office two days per week at a minimum .

Job duties will include but are not limited to:
Strategic Alignment and Collaboration
Serve as a strategic link between all departments and IT, translating organizational needs into technical solutions.
Participate in strategic planning efforts, ensuring IT considerations are embedded early in decision-making.
Technology Advocacy and Relationship Management
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across departments to encourage collaborative planning and implementation.
Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and IT vendors on IT projects and on major systems including but not limited to Laserfiche, iMIS-related, and LMS initiatives.
Project Prioritization and Opportunity Identification
Monitor and analyze system usage and business outcomes to propose improvements, increase efficiency, and contribute to the development of business cases for new or enhanced systems and tools.
Collaborate with internal teams to assess needs and procure IT solutions and prioritize IT initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
Partner with vendors to administer and support the Laserfiche system, including workflows, forms, records management, and user access.
Work closely with team leads to provide support and coordinate development for the iMIS platform.
Change Management and Organizational Transformation
Lead or support IT projects to support operations.
Perform quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing for new IT solutions or system changes.
Provide strategic input during periods of operational transformation or system implementation.
The Ideal IT Business Partner will possess the following attributes and competencies:
3+ yrs experience in an IT liaison, business analysis, or strategic partnership role.
Strong understanding of business process mapping and digital transformation concepts.
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate with both technical and non-technical users.
Familiarity with SQL, APIs, and data integration tools.
Familiarity with learning management systems, data management systems, and document management systems
Willingness to get Laserfiche Certification (e.g., Laserfiche Certified Professional Program – LCPP) and iMIS Certification (e.g., Certified iMIS Professional) within the first 6 months of employment.
Knowledge of data privacy, document retention policies, and compliance standards.
Understanding of member association or non-profit/ public sector environments and processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
Experience with change management and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with project management and business process improvement methodologies is a plus.
Starting Salary Range
$110,000-$135,000
