We are looking for a Lead Power Systems Consultant to join our Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid. The Lead Power Systems Consultant will perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems and mentor others on the team. This is a remote position based in the contiguous U.S., providing solutions to clients in the WECC Region. What you will be working on: Performing consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design. Managing project execution and tracking project progress. Producing reports and presentations with study results. Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction. Supporting proposal preparation and providing mentoring to junior consultants. Developing automation scripts to streamline tasks. Delivering on-site consulting and training services. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with specialization in Power and Energy Systems. Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in power systems analysis. Project management experience, including leading a project team and developing budget and schedule. Experience simulating and analyzing the WECC region. Experience leading, mentoring, or developing others professionally. Good knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards with understanding of RTO and other regional planning criteria. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally. Preferred qualifications: Prior relevant consulting experience. Experience in distribution planning.
