Realty Income is expanding its legal team and looking to hire a Legal Counsel to provide professional leasing legal services with an emphasis on green leasing and sustainability issues for the Company’s national portfolio of properties and to counsel and support the Company’s business teams on a broad range of legal matters. What you will work on: Negotiating and drafting leases and leasing related documents (e.g., amendments, consents to assignments and subleases, guaranties) to maintain occupancy in the Company’s existing portfolio with an emphasis on green leasing best practices.
Review and analyze leases and counsel internal clients with respect energy compliance, building and performance standards, and sustainability matters.
Drafting and negotiating documents for PPAs and related ITC monetization.
Assist the Company’s property management business team through creative problem solving.
Counseling internal clients regarding legal issues including lease interpretation, risk mitigation strategies, and title matters.
Supervising paralegals in asset management, property management, and sustainability legal matters.
Supervising outside counsel, as applicable.
Handling legal matters related to the operation and improvement of our expanding portfolio.
What we need from you: Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
3+ years of transactional real estate law experience, in-house or with a law firm.
Working knowledge of green leasing and building resilience best practices.
Active bar license in good standing in your state of residence.
Excellent knowledge of contracts and real estate law, with strong communication skills.
Experience working cross-functionally in a corporate setting and using business acumen to resolve complex real estate issues preferred.

Additional information is available at www.realtyincome.com . This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The pay range is $124,102 - $180,583 - $211,611. Offers near the high end are rare but possible for exceptional candidates, depending on experience and circumstances. You may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and stock awards, discussed during interviews. Compensation is based on experience, skills, education, performance, internal equity, company performance, and market data.
