Overview Machine Learning / AI Engineer (Local to Bay Area only) This range is provided by Compunnel Inc.. Base pay range $65.00/hr - $85.00/hr Responsibilities Hands-on Machine Learning Engineer with strong foundation in Big Data, NLP, Deep Learning, and cloud infrastructure to design and scale ML solutions in a cloud-first, big data environment. Lead design and architecture of ML and data solutions; build scalable ML systems across NLP, Computer Vision, and recommendation domains. Build pipelines with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLlib, Spark, Hive; work with Unix/Linux scripting, AWS tools, and Data Science notebooks (Jupyter, Zeppelin). Develop ML production deployments; maintain and support existing ML pipelines and APIs. Data platforms and modeling: Hive, Spark SQL, HBase, Hadoop, AWS S3/EC2/Lambda; supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning; NoSQL/RDBMS data stores; HiveQL/UDFs. Collaborate with data science, engineering, and DevOps teams; manage data formats such as Avro, Parquet, Sequence files, etc. Ensure scalable data engineering and data pipeline construction using Hadoop/Spark stack. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in ML/AI development and deployment in production environments. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, SQL. Experience with containerization and deployment workflows. Hands-on experience with AWS and Cloudera Data Platform. Experience with NLP, Deep Learning, Big Data, and cloud infrastructure. Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, statistics, and distributed systems. Location and employment type Location: Local to Pleasanton, CA area (Hybrid/Onsite; No Relocation).
