About the Role A leading AI research initiative is seeking Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) to support a flagship project focused on benchmarking and improving model performance across diverse ML tasks. This role is ideal for professionals with 5+ years of applied experience or a PhD in Machine Learning who are passionate about reproducibility, benchmarking, and advancing frontier AI systems .

Key Responsibilities

Compile external ML competitions into real-world, high-difficulty tasks (e.g., training models, preparing datasets, running experiments).

Implement plans in Python code within a provided Docker environment.

Validate implementations against original plans, documenting discrepancies.

Ideal Qualifications

5+ years of applied machine learning experience OR PhD in ML/related fields.

Strong Python engineering skills , with emphasis on model training and data handling.

Familiarity with Docker-based development environments .

Proven ability to deliver structured, reproducible code and results.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and validation skills.

Prior experience with benchmarking ML research (preferred).

Schedule: Fully remote & asynchronous — set your own hours.

Commitment: ~20 hours/week.

Duration: 2+ months, with potential for extension.

Compensation & Contract

Up to $150/hour (depending on experience and region).

Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
