North America focus on growth in major projects, with Design-Build/Alternative delivery projects for mega projects. Role involves winning and delivering major projects across North America, potentially serving as Project Manager or Project Director depending on scale and complexity, engaging with the Development team and guiding RFQ/RFP phases through delivery.
Key Responsibilities Relationships: Develop, maintain and grow contractor and client relationships in our key markets.
Win: Deliver winning proposals and interviews through a total team effort, securing major project wins for Mott MacDonald.
Deliver: Oversee the delivery of a major project on behalf of Mott MacDonald during the initial project phases; establish the project by best-in-class standards and MM-level quality.
Repeat: Provide a smooth transition to a successor and begin the capture, win and delivery phases again.
Ethics: Exemplify leadership by upholding Mott MacDonald’s ethical standards and values, ensuring zero tolerance for unacceptable behaviors.
Visibility: Engage proactively across the Unit and North America, demonstrating inspiring leadership and fostering collaboration across the Region.
Develop: Enhance employee engagement, retention, well-being, and opportunities by effectively developing talent; take a proactive approach to mentoring and knowledge transfer.
Collaborate: Work across Mott MacDonald to drive a One Mott MacDonald approach.
About You Project Leadership: The ability to inspire and lead a team with a collaborative approach, maintaining high staff morale and performance while delivering project quality, schedule, and budget.
Major Projects Delivery: Proven delivery of major projects through lifecycle stages (win, develop, deliver, close) and experience as a Project Manager on a major project for the prime designer, or as a contractor for Design-Build or Progressive Design-Build projects.
Market Awareness: Clear understanding of the A/E/C industry and knowledge of alternative delivery methods.
Commercial Awareness & Client Relationships: Balance client needs with exceeding expectations while ensuring sound commercial and project results.
Communication: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Presentation: Comfortable presenting to diverse stakeholders (peers, clients, executive leadership).
Technical Background: Background in technical discipline, a PE or PEng, and major projects accreditation.
Success Mindset: Track record of winning alternative delivery projects.
Established Network: Strong relationships with private organizations and state entities and the ability to leverage those relationships.
Contract Awareness: Knowledge of key risks in Design-Build contracts and strategies to reduce risk in project delivery.
