The Core Software team is a high-performance engineering team responsible for building the fundamental software to manage the ONTAP software product. This is an opportunity to work on a high-powered team delivering an industry-changing product within a high-growth sector of the tech industry. Focus will be on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This position is in the Research and Development function focused on technology advances, market requirements, product cost/time-to-market, and product quality. The role requires broad thinking, systems focus, creativity, teamwork, and the ability to drive results. Responsibilities Lead a team of high performing software development and test engineers using a DevOps model Contribute expertise to software architecture and design of distributed system features Facilitate product design, implementation and support, including hands-on involvement as needed Provide coaching and career development for team members Ensure timely and high-quality release of ONTAP modules Work closely with product management and customers to build the best product Take responsibility for results including costs, methods and staffing Qualifications Experience in managing software development projects with C/C++ in Linux/UNIX environments Hands-on systems design and systems software development experience Experience in the systems engineering domain requiring concepts such as computer architecture, operating systems, file systems, networking, algorithms and data structures Strong oral and written communication skills; clear understanding of the product development cycle and project management Ability to understand and apply new technologies Experience with storage technologies is a plus Education Bachelors degree in CS, CE or related field required with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in a people management role. Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $245,000 and will be determined by location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting various factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, retirement or pension plans, PTO, leave options, performance-based incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and RSUs). Benefits may vary by country and region and will be detailed during recruitment.
