Overview Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison, GI in the Virginia/W. Virginia territory. This field-based clinical position requires travel, primarily throughout the assigned geography, with travel estimated at 60%.

Responsibilities Develop and maintain a field strategic plan for the assigned territory.
Respond in a timely manner to unsolicited scientific inquiries from health care professionals, investigators, health systems, and decision makers, integrating scientific data (including real world evidence) into practice to meet customer needs.
Present data and information in a manner appropriate to the audience and request.
Execute plans for reactive and proactive outreaches as approved via the legal/HCC exceptions process.
Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities, while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.
Engage with external investigators, acting as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs and operations teams.
Provide clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve issues with enrolled sites, and participate in meetings including site initiation visits and investigator meetings.
Actively participate in scientific calls, trainings, journal clubs, and conferences; capture and share medical insights; represent JNJ at relevant meetings and speaking engagements.
Perform administrative requirements timely, accurately, and in compliance (e.g., expense reports, activity documentation); support regional training initiatives and collaborate with field-based partners and Immunology teams; follow MSL SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree; NP or PA considered with 2+ years relevant TA clinical experience.
Ability to travel up to 60-70%, including overnight and some weekend commitments; must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.
Reside within the defined assigned territory.
Preferred: 2+ years of relevant work experience (clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical) with presentation skills; knowledge or experience in the relevant TA and/or Immunology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and remote communication tools.
Location Reside in or near: Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Alexandria, VA; Bethesda, MD; Fairfax, VA.
