Project Architect - Mission Critical
This position can be worked from any geographical location. PRIMARY FUNCTION The Mission Critical sector is seeking a senior-level architect to join a well-established and growing team of architects and engineers responsible for delivering innovative, responsive, sustainable, and well-executed data center buildings to a diverse group of US-based and international clients. Data Center projects include site entitlement design and approvals, campus planning, programming, building design, and technical and sustainable research. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on Data Center projects. Candidates with experience in complex technical and integrated building projects are encouraged to apply. Selected candidates are expected to lead and engage with a diverse project team that includes the client, developers, local authorities, architects, and engineers. Strong communication skills, both verbal and graphic, are essential to effectively oversee project milestones and maintain alignment with contractual and financial objectives. The Project Architect role requires a talented professional eager to engage with the HED Mission Critical team as a hands-on leader of project team members. TYPICAL DUTIES Responsible for site and master planning development, working with clients and civil engineering teams for site entitlements and building design approvals. Responsible for building system concepts and documentation from schematics through construction administration phases. Engage during project pursuits to support the Project Manager and Principal in the development of scope and proposals. Function as team leader on large, complex, and integrated architecture and engineering projects. Work directly with sophisticated client teams with diverse stakeholders. Oversee and direct project team members. Prepare and monitor discipline work plans. Research codes and develop project specifications in RIB SpecLink. Sign and seal documentation prepared under supervision. Attend project meetings as necessary. Review submittals during bidding and construction administration. Ensure quality architectural and engineering services within the project team. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and licensure required. LEED Accredited, with a passion for sustainable and resilient design. Minimum of fifteen years’ experience in the A/E industry. Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from schematic design through project close-out. Understanding of coordination requirements across design disciplines. Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities. Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work. Proficient in Revit. Willingness to work remotely using video conferencing and other tools. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible. Ability to work well under deadlines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Travel to project sites for meetings and site observations. Access to project sites for investigation and evaluation. Use of communication and documentation equipment. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
