Network Architect Key Responsibilities Configure and install network hardware and software to meet agency and industry standards and requirements.
Analyze network efficiency by conducting tests and running diagnostics to predict performance thresholds and identify potential issues.
Monitor and report on network traffic usage and overall performance to ensure optimal operation.
Review network changes and trends to forecast future needs while diagnosing and resolving complex network problems.
Review current network infrastructure configurations and make necessary adjustments to improve performance and security.
Provide network design recommendations and solutions while considering feasibility cost equipment needs and project timelines.
Assist in developing strategic direction for the network infrastructure for both current and future environments.
Travel to various South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) offices to provide network configuration implementation and maintenance.
Recommend improvements in network efficiency and effectiveness using network diagrams and reports for leadership review.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues focusing on routing DNS URL filtering and IPSEC VPN tunnels.
Ensure network security by applying proper configuration measures before deployment and retroactively on production systems following MARS-E standards.
Prepare detailed network infrastructure documentation and support daily infrastructure management operations.
Configure and install Palo Alto network firewalls and software adhering to agency and industry standards.
Analyze network efficiency across the entire agency network and proactively address issues.
Provide backup support in developing the strategic direction of the network infrastructure.
Deploy and maintain DNS and DHCP services to ensure reliable network operations.
Network Architect Program Experience Experience with Medicaid Social Services or similar public benefit programs is highly desired. Candidates with documented success in IT networking configuration implementation and network management in these areas will be given priority consideration.
