Summit Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support a key US government agency in the D.C. metro area. This hybrid role in Washington, DC involves working on various Network Security Tools, including engineering, administration, maintenance, and modernization. Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide hands-on support for Security Tools such as SASE, EDR, DLP, Web Proxy, Email Security, IDPS, Firewall, and SIEM technologies.
• Create and implement deployment, update, and upgrade plans.
• Perform routine health checks, maintenance, updates, upgrades, and implement new capabilities.
• Troubleshoot issues, escalate as needed, and collaborate with vendors.
• Support deployment of new Security Tools.
• Develop technical documentation, work instructions, and change management requests.
• Analyze performance issues using various tools.
• Document work accurately in multiple formats.
• Enhance efficiency via process improvements and automation.
• Must have hands-on knowledge of SIEM, Networking, Linux and Windows administration, scripting, and automation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Required Skills and Experience :

• At least 3 years of hands-on support experience with Security Tools listed above.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in administering Windows and Linux operating systems.
• At least 2 years of experience in SIEM administration.
• 2 or more years of scripting and automation experience.
• 2 years of experience creating technical documentation related to Security Tool administration.

Education :

• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant security experience, or 8 years of work experience.

Certifications :

• Industry-standard cybersecurity certification (e.g., Security+).

Clearance :

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
