This role is for a Principal, Architect within the Transit Group, focusing on Aviation projects and opportunities to work locally, nationally, and internationally.
The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience, including managing multi-disciplinary teams, serving as the client liaison, and delivering creative, elegant solutions. 5+ years of recent and relevant aviation experience is required. The successful candidate can be located in any Arcadis office location across the US.
Role responsibilities
- Work with the Practice Group Manager and Leaders in Transit to grow the Aviation practice
- Leverage existing experience and firm-scale resources to grow the respective market
- Develop and maintain key relationships within the internal organization
- Lead and facilitate cross-sector / discipline / office efforts through collaboration and development of inter-office relationships
- Develop and grow client relationships primarily in the aviation sector
- Develop and maintain key contacts in the aviation industry
- Lead and participate in pursuits for business development, including writing and reviewing cost and technical proposals
- Manage projects, including developing cost proposals, work breakdown structures, and monitoring and adapting through the project lifecycle
- Create and update risk management plans
- Lead and foster client relationships and project presentations
- Provide high-level guidance to achieve a trusted partner status with clients
- Hands-on involvement and leadership with project design, coordination, preparation, and delivery of project documents
- Motivate, mentor, and delegate work to team members
Qualifications & Experience
- Architectural degree from a NAAB-accredited program; Masters’ degree preferred
- Licensed Architect with current registration and minimum 20 years of experience
- NCARB file preferred
- Ability to think strategically with an equal focus on business and practice issues; minimum 12 years of experience
- Existing relationships in the Aviation sector
- Experience with large, complex projects within a large multi-disciplinary practice
- Strategic thinking leadership skills, with the ability to connect business with practice
- Comprehensive understanding of project coordination and discipline requirements under demanding deadlines
- Demonstrated creativity, passion, and interest in design
