Overview
Intuit’s Consumer Group (CG), serving over 40 million US consumers for their annual tax filings, is seeking a Principal Marketing Manager to develop a unified GTM strategy for experiential and grassroots campaigns for TurboTax's local activation. This role will focus on creating and executing local marketing campaigns to promote TurboTax's new retail store presence, aligning with the overall local marketing strategy and fiscal targets. The manager will oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of initiatives aimed at increasing in-person engagement at our locations.
We are looking for a local activation marketplace expert with a passion for innovation, collaboration skills, a test-and-learn mindset, and growth orientation. This position suits someone passionate about community building, event planning, and translating local strategies into measurable results. The GTM Field Marketing Strategy Principal Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Media & Performance Marketing in San Diego, CA.
What you'll bring
7+ years in strategic leadership in local channel marketing or agency/consulting, focusing on experiential and grassroots strategies with high-impact results.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
Proven success in planning and executing local events that increase foot traffic.
Ability to engage media agencies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans.
Strong understanding of hyperlocal digital marketing tools and offline tactics.
Exceptional project management skills.
Collaborative work style with internal teams and external partners.
Test & Learn mindset with a record of innovation and translating insights into results.
Strong prioritization and organization skills for leading cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility for evening/weekend work for events.
Familiarity with CRM, foot traffic analytics, and social media ad managers.
Willingness to travel for networking, media, and conferences.
How you will lead
Develop and implement an integrated local strategy including experiential and grassroots campaigns to engage communities and drive in-store traffic.
Lead media planning and GTM campaign development, leveraging insights and trends.
Ensure media execution aligns with strategy; manage communications plans for campaign activation.
Partner with agencies for media investments and optimize performance based on insights.
Use performance data and customer insights to inform strategy and optimize campaigns.
Monitor competitive activity and adapt strategies accordingly.
Align with business leaders on local marketing priorities to foster growth.
Drive cross-functional partnerships
Collaborate with business, channel, brand, and digital teams to ensure strategy alignment and opportunity extension.
Partner with analytics and finance to support performance forecasting and attribution.
Analysis & Optimization
Track results, report insights, and recommend actions to leadership.
Standardize KPIs and automate reporting with analytics teams.
Apply customer insights for ongoing campaign improvement.
Conduct market and competitive intelligence analysis.
Compensation includes a base pay range based on location, with bonuses, equity, and benefits. The position is hybrid: 3 days in-office per week.
