Job Description Summary: Our Enterprise Suite Professional Services Team is seeking a skilled Mainframe Modernization Senior Consultant to provide technical support and leadership in delivering technology solutions that support our customers' digital transformation. Rocket Solutions for COBOL, mainframe application delivery, and host access offer comprehensive, proven solutions across mainframe modernization pillars: application, process, and infrastructure, enabling faster time to market and operational efficiency. Job Responsibilities: Support complex projects with minimal guidance, collaborating with customer and SI representatives. Assist in designing and deploying Rocket Software products. Implement new solutions under Solution Architect guidance. Create proof of concept and pilot analyses. Conduct technical presentations and training sessions. Engage in technical forums and professional communities. Apply subject matter expertise to resolve technical issues. Exercise independent judgment within established practices. Collaborate effectively with team members and clients. Qualifications and Soft Skills: 3-5 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proactive, able to work under pressure. Experience with complex IT projects, customizations, or maintenance. Analytical mindset for testing and defect resolution. Organized and methodical approach to tasks. Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Technical Skills: Experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL or PLI. Knowledge of IBM CICS, IMS, JCL. Relational databases: IBM DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL. Familiarity with Windows and Linux/UNIX OS. Understanding of Cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes. Desired Project Experience: Experience with mainframe workload migration tools and methodologies. COBOL modernization and cross-platform porting. Familiarity with Agile, TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, and Test Data Management. Experience with mainframe data modernization and automation pipelines. Additional Skills: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Experience with Rocket Software COBOL products. Knowledge of other mainframe languages/environments. Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, SAFe, etc.).
